Neural Manipulation
A manual therapeutic approach that evaluates and treats restrictions in the peripheral and central nervous system. For neurological dysfunction, chronic pain and hard-to-resolve conditions.
What is Neural Manipulation?
The nervous system has its own mobility and elasticity that allow it to glide and adapt to body movement. When this mobility is compromised by trauma, inflammation or scar tissue, the nerve is subjected to continuous mechanical tension that produces both local and referred symptoms.
Neural Manipulation identifies and releases these restrictions through specific palpation and mobilization techniques, acting on peripheral nerves, nerve plexuses, meninges and the brain itself.
It complements and extends visceral work, and is especially valuable in chronic neurological conditions, symptoms with atypical distribution, and cases where other approaches have fallen short.
Main indications
- →Neuralgia and chronic neuropathic pain
- →Refractory sciatica and radiculopathies
- →Carpal tunnel syndrome and nerve entrapments
- →Tension-type headaches and migraines
- →Vertigo and tinnitus of cervical or meningeal origin
- →Post-traumatic sequelae of the nervous system

The 4 levels of Neural Manipulation
NM1 — Peripheral Nervous System
Evaluation and treatment of the main peripheral nerves of the trunk and limbs. Neurological palpation, nerve mobility tests and basic release techniques.
NM2 — Plexuses and Cranial Nerves
The brachial plexus, lumbosacral plexus and the 12 cranial nerves. Relationships with the head, neck and structures at the base of the skull.
NM3 — Autonomic Nervous System
Sympathetic and parasympathetic systems: ganglia, autonomic plexuses and their relationship with the viscera. Neural-visceral integration for the treatment of systemic dysfunction.
NM4 — Central Nervous System and Meninges
Evaluation and mobilization of the spinal and cranial meninges, the brain and the spinal cord. Advanced techniques for conditions of greater neurological complexity.
